LV= names new leaders of protection and retirement solutions and heritage

Insurer LV= has appointed new leaders of its protection and retirement solutions and heritage businesses.

Debbie Kennedy has been put in charge of protection at LV=, while Clive Bolton takes over as head of retirement solutions and heritage. Both appointments will take effect on 1 July.

Kennedy will join LV= from MLC Life Insurance, based in Melbourne, Australia, where she is general manager of business design and change and was previously chief underwriting officer.

Prior to this, Kennedy was group head of protection strategy at Royal London. She has also held a number of senior protection roles at Scottish Equitable, Swiss Re, AXA and Capita.

Bolton’s move to concentrate on the retirement solutions and heritage business at LV= reflects the insurer’s increased focus on the retirement sector, where he has significant expertise and experience.

Kennedy will join Bolton on the executive team and both will report directly to Richard Rowney, chief executive of LV=.

Rowney said: “Debbie brings a real breadth of expertise in protection to our business along with strong leadership skills having worked in a number of diverse environments. We have big ambitions for both our protection and retirement businesses and with Debbie and Clive at the helm I’m confident we’ve got the right leadership to enable LV=’s continued success.”
