Vince Linnane to stand down as PMI Chief Executive from May 2016

The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) announced that Vince Linnane, Chief Executive Officer, will be standing down at the end of May 2016. Linnane has spent over 30 years at PMI in a variety of roles, becoming CEO in 2006.

He commented: “After 30 busy and fulfilling years, I have decided it is time to pass the baton on to the next CEO to drive PMI to even greater heights. The past decade has seen the pensions world change at an exponential pace and I am very proud to have been at the helm of PMI and to have met those challenges head on.

“I would not have been able to succeed without the help of past and present PMI Presidents, Councils, committees, regional groups and volunteers to the cause, too numerous to mention. My achievements are shared by PMI House colleagues who are always willing to go the extra mile to improve the PMI member and wider client experience. It is a truism of our industry that it is “people focused” and my
experience over three decades is of an industry that is friendly, honest and committed to ensuring that the vital work we do is delivered to the best of our ability. I am very proud to have been part of it.”

Kevin LeGrand, PMI President, added: “Vince’s long term at PMI has been a great achievement and, given the changes that have occurred over the period, his record is particularly impressive. His successes over the period are too many to list, but highlights include:

  • Redefining the PMI’s vision and developing a strategic platform for new qualifications to reflect
the needs of a changing world
  • Building the financial strength of the PMI by establishing its commercial development arm and
creating a more efficient and effective management structure
  • Leading a proactive relationship management programme with key industry stakeholders
All done while remaining one of the nicest people in the industry. I will not be alone in missing his wise
