Ros Altmann appointed Pensions Minister

Ros Altmann has been appointed Minister of State for Pensions by David Cameron. This follows on from the Conservative’s victory in the General Election amid a swathe of new Cabinet appointments. Altmann – a former advisor to Tony Blair – replaces Steve Webb.

Dr. Altmann has been an institutional asset manager and Director for the likes of Rothschild Asset Management. Altmann has also worked as a director of Saga and was highly influential in ending automatic annuitisation. A long standing campaigner for the rights of the older worker, she will now be at the helm of UK pensions as the country continues with auto-enrolement and freedom reforms.
