Pensions Reformer welcomes the support of NFOP

Malcolm Booth CEO - NFOP

Malcolm Booth, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the National Federation of Occupational Pensioners has agreed to join the Advisory Board of Pensions Reformer. Malcolm will help with the strategic direction of Pensions Reformer and advise on issues affecting the pensioner.

Malcolm joined NFOP in 2007 as Deputy CEO/Treasurer before taking over as CEO in 2012. He has been instrumental in the continued evolution of NFOP as a member focused organisation that provides a relevant set of services aimed at helping and supporting those in later life.

He has worked to keep key issues affecting NFOP members and older people in general visible on the agendas of policy makers, ensuring that NFOP is a recognised voice amongst parliamentarians, government departments, and likeminded organisations and associations.

Before joining NFOP Malcolm spent 25 years in the retail arm of Barclays Bank followed by eight years with the Foresters Friendly Society.

NFOP is an independent not-for-profit membership organisation that has been providing help and support to individuals who have saved for a pension, whether in receipt of a pension or as a deferred scheme member, for over 80 years. It acts as a cost effective alternative to a schemes welfare service or as an addition to a retirement package.

NFOP members have access to a number of helplines including initial legal and financial advice, help with IT and computer problems, tax services, an Accident Aftercare service, an informative and entertaining magazine, a travel club and the opportunity to be part of a local group where they can meet and socialise with fellow pensioners. Relationships with select organisations mean that NFOP members also benefit from a number of discounted services.

NFOP also has a Welfare Fund that can provide some financial support to members, meeting set criteria, through the provision of grants.
